Relayo is built so there is almost nothing to collect. This page is honest about the little that touches our servers and what happens to it.

What we do not keep

We do not log what you search. We do not log the sites you open. We do not keep the pages we fetch for you once they have been handed over. There is no account, so there is no name, email, or password on file. We are not building a profile of you, because we have nothing to build it from.

What briefly touches our servers

To fetch a page at all, our servers have to handle it for a moment. During that moment the page passes through memory and is sent to you. It is not written to disk and it is not retained. Think of it like post going through a sorting office rather than a filing cabinet.

What we may count

We keep basic, aggregate numbers to keep the service standing up, such as how many requests came in and how many errors we threw. These counts are not tied to you and cannot be traced back to a person. We use them to spot outages and abuse, nothing else.

Abuse protection

To stop the service being flooded or used to attack others, we may briefly hold a rate limiting record tied to a network address. It exists to say who has been hammering us in the last few minutes, it is short lived, and it is not used for anything but that.

Cookies

Relayo does not set tracking cookies. A site you open through Relayo might try to set its own cookies, and we pass those through so the page works, but they belong to that site, not to us.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and erasure. Because we hold essentially none, in most cases there is nothing for us to hand over or delete. If you think we hold something about you, ask us and we will look.

Requests and complaints

Data requests go to SYNK via the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
